Ground calcium carbonate and talc, specified by d50 and d97.

Standard grades from 5 µm to 40 µm d50, with the d97 top cut stated for each — and the chemical and physical analysis behind them. Fineness can be adjusted within the production range to an agreed technical requirement.

Standard grades

Each grade is specified by its median particle size (d50) and its top cut (d97). Fineness is adjusted within the production range of 3–40 µm to the agreed technical requirement, and customer-specific grades can be developed subject to technical feasibility.

Talc 55 µm≤ 15 µm
Talc 1010 µm≤ 25 µm
Talc 2020 µm≤ 45 µm
Talc 4040 µm≤ 80 µm

Whiteness-Z depends on the talc quality: 86 % min for Grade 2 and 83 % min for Grade 3 (measured on 325 mesh powder).

Asbestos-free. Both talc grades are tested asbestos-free: the P&C technical specification reports record asbestos as nil for Grade 2 and asbestos-free for Grade 3.

Analysis and properties by product.

Values from P&C's technical specification reports; the particle size shown on each card is the grade in that report, and the standard d50/d97 grades are listed above. Fineness can be adjusted within the production range to an agreed technical requirement; final suitability depends on the grade and the customer's formulation. Full reports on request.
